Smoked Jalapeño Brat Burgers

Recipe Yields 4 Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 19 oz. package of brats
- ¼ cup diced jalapeño
- 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
- Your favorite all-purpose beef rub
- Zavala's Sloppy Juan Sauce
- Garlic Aioli (optional)
Instructions
- Remove casing from brats. In a bowl add the brat meat and jalapeño. Mix well.
- Shape into burger patties, season with your favorite bbq beef rub.
- Place in smoker at 225 for about 1 hr, finish over direct flame to get a nice char.
- While burgers are smoking, caramelize sliced onion over low-medium heat.
- Build your burger: toast the buns, add the brat burger patty, caramelized onions, drizzle on Sloppy Juan Sauce (or your fave bbq sauce) and garlic aioli. Enjoy!
